FIEC Privacy Policy
FIEC respects and honours our members, donors, supporters and contacts, their right to be treated courteously, fairly and have their privacy protected. FIEC agrees with the Australian Privacy Principles contained in the Privacy Act of 1988 and amendments.
Collection and use
Names, contact details and other information collected from all interested parties on behalf of FIEC is used for the purpose of undertaking the functions of FIEC.
Individuals interested in membership of FIEC provide personal information that is collected for the purpose of determining suitability and qualifications for membership. FIEC will not use or disclose the information for another purpose without gaining the consent of the person or persons concerned.
Primarily FIEC collects personal information for the assessment of the suitability for membership of individuals and churches and the continuing compliance with membership rules contained in the constitution and will not be used for any secondary purposes without prior consent except if required by law.
Personal information collected by FIEC may be sensitive information for the purpose of the Australian Privacy Principles (e.g. information about a person's religious beliefs, medical history, etc).
Protecting your information
FIEC has put in place procedural, physical and electronic means to safeguard all personal information of members, donors, supporters and contacts.
FIEC will not rent, exchange or sell mailing lists of members to other organisations.
FIEC will take reasonable steps to protect the personal information it holds from misuse and loss and from unauthorised access, modification or disclosure and will ensure that personal information is kept secure and confidential.
FIEC will, with your help, take reasonable steps to ensure that all personal information collected and used by the organisation is accurate, complete and up-to-date.
Only office holders or persons who perform services on behalf of FIEC are authorised to handle personal information, or will have access to such information.
Access and correction
Secure Socket Layer (SSL) Encryption is used when collecting or transferring direct debit and credit card information via the Internet, ensuring a secure environment for the transfer of confidential data from browser to our financial institution using the latest encryption technology.
Senior Ministers and member churches are invited to advise FIEC of any changes to personal details.
Senior Ministers or representatives of member churches may ask to see personal information about themselves and if the personal information held is not accurate, complete and up-to-date, FIEC will take reasonable steps to correct it.
